Con Dao Archipelago spans 76 km² and includes 16 islands, with Con Son being the largest. Famous beaches here include Dam Trau, An Hai, Shark Cape, Ong Dung, and Lo Voi, but Bai Nhat is a standout along the coastal road crossing Con Son. Its fine white sand and crystal-clear water create an irresistible charm.

What makes Bai Nhat unique is its tide-dependent visibility. At high tide, the beach nearly disappears beneath the water, only to reemerge when the tide recedes.

Bai Nhat changes its beauty throughout the day. Under the midday sun, the sea glows emerald green, sparkling like jade. By sunset, the horizon blends shades of gold, orange, purple, and red. Few places in Con Dao rival Bai Nhat for sunset views.

Nguyen Quoc Truong, a Con Dao resident from Dong Nai, said the beach’s size changes with the tide. He recommends visiting around 5 p.m. to enjoy both the romantic sunset and the pristine sand.

Located on the road from Ben Dam to Con Son’s town center, Bai Nhat is easily accessible. This winding coastal route offers stunning views - mountains and forest on one side, blue sea and white sand on the other. Despite its proximity to the main road, the beach remains untouched and undeveloped.

Visitors can climb nearby hills for a panoramic view of the curving road and turquoise waters. News praised Bai Nhat alongside Tropical (Indonesia), Furuzamami (Japan), Talalla (Sri Lanka), Kanawa Island (Indonesia), and Bako National Park (Malaysia).

The best time to visit Con Dao is from March to September when seas are calm and winds mild in the eastern and northeastern islands. From July to September, sea turtles come ashore to nest.

Although Bai Nhat’s powdery sand seems ideal for swimming, locals avoid bathing here due to dangerous currents, especially during strong winds. Another drawback is a large garbage site located not far from the beach.
