VietNamNet Bridge - A Chinese man demanded a refund after discovering that he was the second husband of his wife, a woman in the southern province of Soc Trang.

On June 3, Colonel Nguyen Chi Dung, Head of the Immigration Management Department of the Can Tho City Police Agency, said that his agency had recently dealt with a case in which a Chinese man, named Zhu ZhiJun, 44, claimed his money for the wedding and match-making fees back.

As reported by Zhu Zhijun, through the Internet, he knew a Chinese woman who often went to Vietnam for doing business. That’s Sun Gen Po, 29 years old. On April 20, Zhu entered Vietnam and was taken to Soc Trang by Sun to find a girl to marry.

Zhu gave 15,000 yuan to Sun as match-making fees. He also gave the Vietnamese bride’s family VND4 million ($200) for the wedding party and VND6 million as wedding presents.

After the first night in Can Tho with his wife, Zhu found the woman no longer a virgin because she had got married before. The Chinese man took the woman back to Soc Trang and demanded a refund.

The bride’s family agreed to pay the VND6 million of wedding presents. The VND4 million for the wedding feast had been spent so they did not pay it.

Two weeks ago, Zhu met Sun in Can Tho and demanded his 15,000 yuan back. When the two people were quarrelling, the local police intervened and informed the case to the Immigration Management Department of the Can Tho Police Agency.

"After verification, Zhu was fined for administrative violation for having operations that were contrary to the purposes of entry," a police officer said.
