Travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City have introduced a wide range of promotional tour packages for upcoming major holidays, including the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, the April 30–May 1 holiday, and the summer 2026 travel season, aiming to stimulate demand and attract more visitors.

Since early April, businesses have rolled out new travel products featuring deep discounts alongside refreshed itineraries developed through stronger tourism linkages between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.

Discounts of up to 50%

Many travellers are taking advantage of promotional campaigns launched during the peak holiday booking season. Families often begin planning trips in April, seeking destinations that offer fresh experiences while meeting diverse travel preferences and budgets.

Travel firms have responded by simultaneously introducing new routes, service combos and incentive policies, with discounts of up to 50% applied to both domestic and outbound tours. Promotional schemes include group discounts, service upgrades and experience vouchers. Several companies have also partnered with airlines to offer all-inclusive packages, expanding choices for travellers.

Targeting short holiday trips of three to four days domestically and four to six days within nearby regional destinations, Du Lich Viet Company has launched “Sea and Heritage” domestic tours nationwide, priced from 300,000 VND (about 11 USD) to 7.399 million VND (280 USD) per person. Overseas packages to Southeast and Northeast Asia are also offered at competitive prices starting from 7.49 million VND.

According to Pham Anh Vu, Deputy General Director of Du Lich Viet, the company has increased land and rail tours, short-distance itineraries and early-booking price-lock packages to help travellers manage costs amid rising airfare prices. Promotional flight tickets discounted by up to 29% and combo packages such as Hanoi–Phu Quoc tours from 4.75 million VND are targeting young travellers and families.

Saigontourist Travel Service Company has also introduced three new Con Dao-themed tours under the theme “Historical imprints – green journeys – four-star resort retreat”, featuring flexible daily departures and experiential programmes including trekking, running tours and seasonal sea turtle release activities.

Promoting localised travel experiences

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Chairwoman of Saigontourist Group, said stronger tourism cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta provinces requires careful assessment of local resources to develop distinctive tourism products. The group is promoting product diversification, expanding tourism spaces and advancing sustainable tourism linked to local cultural and ecological identities.

Following a recent survey in Vinh Long province, Saigontourist Group aims to collaborate with local authorities to develop specialised products such as orchard-based eco-tourism, craft village experiences and community tourism, serving both domestic and international markets while enhancing destination competitiveness.

Amid a broader shift in global tourism from single destinations to integrated experience ecosystems, the role of major urban hubs such as Ho Chi Minh City is evolving.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Cong Vinh noted that with expanded resources and stronger regional connectivity, the city is gradually becoming a hub for organising and distributing interregional travel itineraries, connecting visitor flows and shaping tourism trends rather than serving solely as a destination.

The city is pursuing a new positioning as a connector of destinations and a market creator for Vietnam’s tourism industry, with future development focusing on deeper cultural identity, digital transformation, innovation and expanded regional cooperation to create higher-value travel experiences.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City remains a key growth pole, international gateway, service and event hub, creative centre and culturally distinctive destination. The city has set ambitious targets for 2026 of welcoming 11 million international visitors and 50 million domestic tourists.

He called on the city’s tourism sector to strengthen cooperation with businesses to reinforce its role as an industry leader and elevate the city’s destination brand as modern, dynamic, safe, friendly, creative and attractive, while promoting effective regional linkages and developing distinctive interregional tourism products./.
