The figures were presented in a report at a conference reviewing the 2025-2026 school year and outlining tasks for 2026-2027 for non-public education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the report, the city's non-public education sector underwent significant changes during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded 292 newly opened language and IT centers, training facilities and foreign-invested education institutions.

The city also granted licenses to six additional private schools, two centers supporting inclusive education development, 148 organizations providing overseas study consulting services and 67 life-skills education centers.

In the other direction, 112 language and IT centers were dissolved or had their approvals revoked during the school year. Ten life-skills education centers were also dissolved or had their approvals withdrawn.

Other institutions that were dissolved or had their approvals revoked included the American International School, which provided primary, lower-secondary and upper-secondary education, and the second campus of the Nhan Van Center for Inclusive Education Development.

During the 2025-2026 school year, two private schools, two foreign-invested preschools and one overseas study consulting business were also suspended from operating.

The two private schools were Han Viet Secondary and High School and Ngoc Vien Dong Secondary and High School.

The two foreign-invested preschools were United World Preschool and ASC Preschool, while the overseas study consulting business was TFOCUS JSC.

The report indicates continued substantial turnover in Ho Chi Minh City's non-public education market, particularly in language, IT and supplementary training.

The simultaneous opening of numerous new institutions and the dissolution or withdrawal of approvals for more than 100 others highlights the need for continued monitoring of operating conditions, service quality and regulatory compliance among non-public education providers across the city.
