Located about 20km from the center of Da Nang city and near the DT602 road leading to Ba Na, Hoa Trung Lake is a favored destination among locals and travel enthusiasts for its lush landscapes and tranquil environment, ideal for healing and weekend leisure activities.

Hoa Trung is an artificial lake that serves both as a source of domestic water and irrigation for the residents of Hoa Lien and Hoa Ninh in Da Nang’s Lien Chieu District.

Each season, the lake displays unique beauty, but it is during the dry months from September to October that the lake is considered ideal for exploration. During this period, the weather is cool and clear, the water is crystalline and calm, revealing small, undulating islets that create picturesque scenes, reminiscent of Ha Long Bay.

Pham Quang Tuan, a blogger known as Tuan Cuong Chan, visited Hoa Trung Lake in early September and noted that the destination was experiencing its low-water season. The exposed lake bed is lush with greenery, providing perfect spots for visitors to take photos.

"In the past, after water was released from the dam, the lakebed became a vast valley with lush grass, attracting many visitors for overnight camping and engaging in nature activities. However, camping is no longer allowed in this area, and visitors are now only able to walk around the lake and enjoy daytime activities," Tuan explained.

According to the blogger who resides in Da Nang, the best times to visit Hoa Trung Lake are in the early morning or late afternoon when the weather is cooler and the sunlight is softer, ideal for photography or enjoying the sunrise and sunset.

The route to Hoa Trung Lake is quite accessible but remote, so visitors should ensure their vehicles are fueled, and it is advisable to bring snacks and drinks since there are no shops or tourism services available nearby.

"Visitors should observe and follow the regulations indicated on signs around the lake to ensure safety. After enjoying your time, remember to clean up and leave no trash behind," Tuan added.

On the way to Hoa Trung Lake, visitors can also stop by the Nam O fishing village in Lien Chieu District to experience local cuisine and enjoy affordable dishes such as sardine salad and squid hotpot.
