VietNamNet Bridge - The spouses of APEC leaders and senior officials visited the ancient town of Hoi An on the morning of November 11.

The delegation visited the Hoai River Square, the Bridge Pagoda, some relics in the old town, the statue garden and the Hoi An silk village. The tour was part of a series of events on the sidelines of the APEC Summit 2017.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hien, President Tran Dai Quang’s spouse will host the program.

The welcome ceremony was held at the Cultural Center of Hoi An City. Hoi An. After the welcoming ceremony, the delegation walked along the streets of Hoi An ancient town. They also visited the Bridge Pagoda, enjoying the ancient space, folk games and the daily life of Hoi An people.

The delegates visited shops selling silk, embroidery products, lanterns, handicraft products and the silk village of Hoi An, which provides silk products made by traditional silk weaving methods with a history of more than 300 years in Hoi An town.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the Hoi An People's Committee, said: "More than 100 urban environmental workers and local people are ready to ensure the beautiful urban landscape to welcome APEC. This also includes the participation of the people of Cam Pho and Minh An Wards, where the ladies of APEC officials will visit.”

Hoi An people had to wait for the withdrawal of floodwaters to clean up their homes and the streets to welcome APEC guests.
