Tourists, especially Vietnamese, have been turning into eco-tourism products for family retreats with fun and memorable experiences. Therefore, there have been more visitors choosing homestays in Lao Cai for family and friend outings by weekends.

In recent years, community tourism in Lao Cai has earned its reputation with Ta Van village gaining Homestay ASEAN awards in 2017.

Agrotourism development is a right move of Lao Cai province when implementing the National Action Programme on Building New-style Rural Areas as it not only improves locals’ livelihood but also contributes to preserve and promote distinctive cultural values of ethnic minorities within the locality.-VNA
