Hoiana Resort’s president Steve Wolstenholme said the resort plans to serve 2,000 guests this Tet holiday. Rooms are nearly fully booked. Guests mostly booked rooms for February 10-14 (from the first to the fifth day of the Tet holiday). The room occupancy rate is expected to reach 95 percent. The guests are mostly groups or and families.

Eighty percent of travelers are from South Korea and Taiwan.

Hoiana has prepared special activities to serve tourists. Hoiana Resort & Golf has worked with the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board to organize a Champa dance art program.

Da Nang Mikazuki Hotel reports an occupancy rate of 85 percent on Tet. The crowded days will be from the last day of the Year of the Cat to the third day of the New Lunar Year of the Dragon. Sixty-five percent of guests will be foreigners, mostly from Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and the US.

“Our occupancy rate in the 2023 Tet holiday was over 90 percent. However, there were a lot of last minute bookings. So we believe that more guests will book rooms and the occupancy rate will be equal or higher this year,” a senior executive of the hotel said.

The hotel plans to organize traditional activities on the third and fourth days of the New Lunary Year and offer traditional Tet dishes.

Waiting for nonresident guests

Ngo Thi Huong, deputy director of Muong Thanh Luxury Da Nang, said 70 percent of hotel rooms have been booked, with a high percentage of foreign travelers.

“As for domestic travelers, we are expecting bookings just days before Tet. Family travelers may also book rooms,” she said.

My Trinh, director of the 3-star Bien Vang Hotel, said more guests would book rooms one or two days before and during Tet.

“In addition to the guests booking rooms in advance, our hotel always receives independent travelers and non-resident guests from Hue, Quang Nam and neighboring provinces, accounting for 20-30 percent,” she said.

“These guests will book rooms from the second day of the New Year,” she said.

Da Nang will launch a fireworks show at midnight on February 10 at three locations.
