According to initial reports, the fire broke out at around 2pm at the home of Tran Thi Duc, born in 1966, in Chanh Hoa hamlet, Cat Tien commune. Residents nearby noticed the blaze and rushed to alert others while attempting to extinguish the flames and notify authorities.

Emergency forces quickly arrived at the scene and worked with local residents to bring the fire under control. However, after the blaze was extinguished, authorities discovered four victims had died inside the house.

The victims were identified as Tran Thi Duc; her daughter, Tran Thi Cao; and Cao’s twin sons, both ninth-grade students.

Authorities in Cat Tien commune, in coordination with investigative units from the Gia Lai Provincial Police, are conducting a scene examination and autopsies to determine the cause of the fire.
