The blaze is believed to have started around 1:30am at a house on Hoang Minh Dao Street. Witnesses said they heard several loud explosions before noticing flames erupting from one of the buildings. Neighbors quickly shouted warnings and attempted to extinguish the fire using small fire extinguishers, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The area, densely packed with flammable materials like wood and tarpaulin, allowed the fire to spread rapidly to adjacent homes. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as residents rushed to evacuate, carrying their belongings and escaping the smoke and heat.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City mobilized several specialized vehicles and fire crews to the scene. By dawn, the blaze was largely under control.

The fire caused significant damage, with several homes reduced to rubble and all possessions inside completely destroyed. As of 9:00am, authorities remained on site to secure the area and investigate the cause of the fire.
