More information about the incomes of big businessmen has been exposed as it is now the shareholders’ meeting season.

The documents delivered at the 2016 annual shareholders’ meeting showed that FPT, the largest information technology group, paid VND9.2 billion to three members of the board of directors in 2015.

The three members include Truong Gia Binh, president, Bui Quang Ngoc, vice president and CEO, and Do Cao Bao, member of the board of directors.

As such, Binh, Ngoc and Bao received more than VND250 million a month.

Vinamilk is among the companies with best business performance in Vietnam. Therefore, it is understandable why the company’s management unit always gets high pay. In 2015, the company paid VND67.3 billion to the board of directors’ members and management board.

Not only senior executives, but the company’s workers also could receive high salaries. They received VND632 billion in 2015, nearly double the year before.

Local newspapers have reported that 10 members of the board of directors of the Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) received nearly VND6 billion for 2015. The figure is higher than VND4.96 billion in 2014 and VND4.84 billion in 2013, but shows a sharp fall if compared with the sum of VND14.31 billion they received in 2012.

This means that every member of the board of directors received VND600 million for the whole year 2015 and VND50 million a month.

The colleagues at other commercial banks are believed to receive bigger money than ACB.

Nguyen Duc Vinh, former CEO of Techcombank is known as the banker with highest pay. He once earned roughly $1 million a year in his highest peak.

While the businessmen receive high pay for their contribution to the businesses’ performance, others can pocket big money from bonuses and dividends.

Le Phuoc Vu, president of Hoa Sen Group, is one of them. The group has decided to pay the dividend of 75 percent (25 percent in cash and 50 percent in shares) for 2015.

Vu and his two private companies in which he is the president – Hoa Sen Investment & Tourism Company and Tam Hy Company – now hold 43 million Hoa Sen shares, or 33.52 percent of the group’s charter capital. As such, they expect to receive VND110 billion in cash and 22 million shares for dividend.
