A woman was swept away during a city-wide evacuation in Hue, while authorities prepare to relocate thousands.
Heavy rainfall brought on by Typhoon Bualoi has caused widespread flooding in Hue City, with some central areas submerged under more than 1 meter of water. A woman was reported missing after being swept away while evacuating.
According to the Hue City Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, from September 27 to 29, the city has experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 200 to 400mm, and some locations exceeding 600mm.
Speaking to VietNamNet, Hoang Thi Nhu Thanh, Chairwoman of An Cuu Ward People's Committee, said that intense downpours on the afternoon of September 27 led to deep flooding in several streets in the Giong neighborhood, with floodwaters rising to nearly 1 meter in some areas. By 5:00 p.m., local authorities had deployed personnel and rescue teams to help residents evacuate their homes.

According to An Cuu Ward officials, at around 3:00 p.m. on September 27, Nguyen Duy Hung (born 1985) and his wife Duong Thi Hue (born 1990), both from Quang Ninh Province, attempted to walk through floodwaters to reach the bus station for a trip to Thanh Hoa.
While crossing a flooded section of Nguyen Huu Canh Street, Hue was swept away by fast-moving waters and went missing. Hung immediately contacted authorities for rescue assistance.
Hue police are currently coordinating with local officials to search for the missing woman.
Seventh grader goes missing after swimming in stormy sea in Thanh Hoa
Despite an official sea ban issued by Thanh Hoa Province from 6:00 a.m. on September 27 due to Typhoon Bualoi, a seventh-grade student went missing after swimming in rough waters.
At around 5:10 p.m., Thanh Hoa’s Fire and Rescue Police Department (Unit 114) received a report of a drowning incident at Tien Trang Beach in Tien Phong Hamlet, Tien Trang Commune.
The victim was identified as N.V.A. (born 2013), a resident of Hamlet 2, Tien Trang Commune. While playing and swimming in the sea, A. was swept away by strong waves and went missing.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Civil Defense Command had earlier issued an urgent directive prohibiting all maritime activity from 6:00 a.m. on September 27 until Typhoon Bualoi no longer poses a threat.
