The traditional event drew thousands of locals and tourists from across the country.

A traditional spiritual activity of the Hue people, it is generally held during the third and seventh months of lunar year at a shrine located on Ngoc Tran hill, where the Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na is worshipped.

This year’s festival was marked by a traditional boat procession and street carnival that showcased the uniqueness of the ancient colorful costumes and typical performances and dances of the Mother Goddess.

Hon Chen Temple is located on Ngoc Tran hill in Ngoc Ho village, Huong Tra township, Hue City. Ngoc Tran means Jade Cup, in reference to an anecdote about King Minh Mang dropping the jade cup.
