Some drug traffic cases involving foreign people have been discovered by the police and border guards.

Four men arrested in Laos

The anti-drug squad in Quang Binh Province announced on March 27 that they and the police in the Laos province of Khammouan had detained four Laos people and seized 110,000 synthetic drug tablets in Khammouan District. 

The anti-drug force also found three cars and 19 million Laotian Kip (USD2,200) at their headquarter.

The drug dealers were armed and wounded a border guard. This is the biggest transnational drug trafficking ring discovered by the Quang Binh border guards and their counterparts in other countries yet.

On March 28 Colonel Nguyen Sy Quang from HCM City Department of Public Security announced that they had busted a big drug trade case at An Suong intersection in District 12. The police pulled over a suspicious van on March 27 and discovered the drugs.

The van was carrying many carton boxes containing nearly 900 drug cakes. The police suspected that they might be heroin. According to Quang, they had detained a Chinese man and a local driver for transporting the drugs and are inspecting nearby locations.

Drug fighting in HCM City has become more complicated as the city is being used as a transit point for drug trafficking.
