Hundreds of people, mostly foreign visitors have registered to run Hoi An International Marathon 2017 scheduled for September 17.

The organizers said the event aims to promote tourism and culture of Hoi An ancient town in Quang Nam central province to the world. 

The marathon runners will have an opportunity to gain more insights about beautiful landscapes and cultural characteristics of the land with 2,000 - year history.

The marathon distances varies from 5km to 42km. Runners will receive souvenir cups, medals, T-shirts and bags at the Centre for Culture and Sports of Hoi An  City on September 15-16.

Sponsors for the event include Index Creative Village, Bangkok Airways, Green Hat, and Fab Motion.
