A seven-year-old boy in the northern province of Hung Yen has died from serious injuries after being attacked by a herd of around 10 dogs.

The boy from the northern province of Bac Ninh was living with his parents at a rented house in Luong Bang Town, Kim Dong District, Hung Yen Province.  

Nguyen Van Hoc, chairman of Kim Dong District, said that the dogs belonged to the family of the landlord.

According to the initial information, while the boy was travelling through a local stadium, the dogs suddenly attacked him. People rushed to save the boy and took him to hospital.

The boy was moved to Vietnam-Germany Hospital in Hanoi from Hung Yen General Hospital as he was suffering profuse bleeding with many severe injuries.

Despite the best efforts by doctors at Vietnam-Germany Hospital in Hanoi, the boy died last night (April 3).
