The victim of domestic violence.

The victim, Nguyen Thi Hong Le, from Tan Hung Commune, Cai Be District, said on the morning of August 21st, she woke up early to cook a pot of boiling water to prepare tea. 

At that time her husband - Tran Van Ro – also woke up and immediately cursed and beat her. 

Ro poured the boiling water into her left ear before leaving the house.

Le was brought to Cai Be Hospital for emergency aid by her neighbors.

Le’s neighbors said Ro was drunk and beat his wife regularly. 

The night before the incident occurred, he was also drunk and slept on the sand pile of his neighbor. He was then brought home by his family.

Local police are investigating the case, said Colonel Le Hoang Tien, chief police of Cai Be district.
