The illegal bussiness services on Do Son Beach

The majority of Area 2 of Do Son Beach is full of stalls which pay annual fees of VND30-50 million ($1,304-$2,173)  per year.

Luu Dinh Men, director of the Do Son Tourism Development and Services Centre, admitted that households signed contracts with the centre for hiring the slots on the beach for business activities following Do Son District authorities’ permission since April this year.

Then stall owner re-lease their rented area to customers, with visitors having to pay VND20,000 to hire a chair to relax.

On May 17, Haiphong People’s Committee requested an end to such business services on the beach. However, since the problem has continued.

According to Dan Viet Newspaper, the committee has once again urged Do Son District to deal with the problem.
