The money found on July 2 belonged to a 38-year-old Australian Vietnamese woman who took a flight of Vietnam Airlines to Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She was caught with AUD18,000 (USD13,636) in her luggage.

The money surpassed the permitted foreign currency to be transported by air. She did not inform customs officer about this and failed to show the banking permit for the transport.

On May 16, a 38-year-old Vietnamese woman was found to have USD7,800, KRW20 million and JPY300,000 when she was preparing to take a flight to South Korea.

On May 8, an Australia passenger was caught with AUD17,250 in his luggage when completing check-in procedures.

These cases have been prosecuted and faced investigations.
