VietNamNet Bridge – For the last three years, Mr. Le Duc Giap from Cao Vien Commune, Thanh Oai District, Hanoi has gotten rich thanks to his unique ornamental trees, which have up to 10 kinds of fruits  on one tree.

Having a passion for ornamental trees since childhood, with 10 years of experience growing and trading ornamental trees, it took Giap over three years of research to create a species of ornamental trees with different types of fruits on the same tree.

After numerous failed attempts, he was successful in creating this kind of tree, earning huge profits every lunar New Year (Tet holiday).

Giap said after years of experimentation, he finally chose grapefruit trees as the owner tree and grafted fruits like red pomelo, Buddha's hand fruit, Canh orange, sweet orange, lime, tangerine, lemon and others on the tree. This task requires workers with a lot of experience, ingenuity, and meticulousness.

The fruit is edible and still retains their flavor.

To make the fruit ripe at Tet, branches are grafted at various times depending on the characteristics of each kind of fruit. This is the experience Giap has learnt after many times of failure.

At this moment, hundreds of trees in the garden have been sold to many customers from many provinces in the country.  They buy the trees for the upcoming Tet holiday.

The trees are priced from VND2 to VND10 million ($100 to $500), depending on the shape,  and number of fruits on the tree.
