The Spring Flower Festival in Phu My Hung opens today. In the past few days, gardeners from southern provinces and HCM City transported their special products to the festival. Many ornamental trees are priced up to tens of thousands of USD.
This pair of apricot trees of over 3m long is priced VND1.2 billion ($50,000). The trees are owned by Mr. Truong Thanh Vien from Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Vien said he would bring his most expensive tree to the festival – a VND2 billion (nearly $100,000) apricot tree.
Among the most special trees at the festival is a pair of ancient thistle trees of a gardener from Ben Tre province.
The trees are over 100 years old. One tree is 3m tall and the other is 3.7 m tall.
The owner offers VND1.2 billion (nearly $60,000) for the trees.
Among the most expensive trees at the festival are the two ancient Barringtonia trees, priced VND2 and VND3 billion each (nearly $100,000 and $150,000).
Mr. Tran Anh Hung, from Binh Chanh District, HCM City, the owners of the two trees, said these trees are nearly 300 years old.
