On February 5, Hanoi University organized the Tet Viet 2026 program for its international students.
The event aimed to introduce foreign students to the cultural beauty of Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year.
On the university campus, international students experienced a range of iconic Tet activities.
These included wrapping banh chung, making spring rolls, asking for calligraphy from traditional scholars and playing folk games such as bamboo dancing, ring tossing and molding to he figurines.
International students also donned colorful ao dai to more fully feel the atmosphere of Vietnamese Tet.
Many students said they found Tet in Vietnam joyful and uniquely distinctive after taking part in the activities.
University leaders and lecturers extended New Year wishes and lucky money envelopes to the international students, expressing hopes for a year of good fortune and peace.
Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice President of Hanoi University, said the program was designed to help international students studying at the university learn about traditional festivals.
It also allowed them to enjoy traditional flavors and dishes and participate in Vietnamese folk games during the spring season.
Through these activities, he said, international students would gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and grow more fond of the country and its people.
