The 2023 international trade connection conference with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee - Connecting passion and aspiration for development" is a key event of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, to be held on March 10-14 with the aim of effectively implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party and State on trade promotion, trade connection, and promoting export of Dak Lak’s coffee in 2023 and the coming time.

Dak Lak currently has 213,336 hectares of coffee, with output reaching over 526,700 tons/year. This province is considered the coffee capital of Vietnam because its area and output always rank first in the country. Coffee is the main agricultural product in the province's economic structure, accounting for a large proportion of total social product and annual export turnover. Coffee directly affects the income of the majority of people living in Dak Lak.

However, most of coffee processing facilities in Dak Lak operate on a small scale, using dry processing technology with simple machinery and equipment. In addition, the epidemic and world security situation affects the global supply chain, along with price escalation, and high inflation in the world economy cause many difficulties for the coffee market.

The international trade connection conference will be an opportunity to advertise, connect, and promote the consumption of coffee that meets export standards; the sales of products certified by VietGAP, GlobalGAP and OCOP of Dak Lak province in particular and localities in general; create conditions for export-import businesses, localities, and traders to have opportunities to interact, increase understanding, find partners, promote exchanges and expand cooperation in coffee consumption.

On the sidelines of the International Trade Connection Conference, there will be many activities, specifically: meetings between foreign importers and domestic coffee exporters in Buon Ma Thuot; discussions of experts, exporters and importers on the export potential of Vietnamese coffee in general and Dak Lak coffee in particular; display and introduction of products of businesses on the sidelines of the conference; Introducing and promoting the potential strengths and investment opportunities in coffee production, coffee processing and consumption of Dak Lak and other provinces/cities; signing memorandum of understanding and contracts on investment cooperation and product consumption between partners at the conference.
