The second international offroad bike race “Vietnam Victory Challenge” began yesterday in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

The competition will take place in Da Lat City and Lac Duong District until March 13 with 175 cyclists from Vietnam and foreign countries competing.

Riders will compete in eight categories according to their skills, age and gender.

According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Nguyen, the annual event is aimed at promoting local tourism and protecting the environment.

The organising board plan to raise funds from sponsors for charity.

In 2015, the tournament attracted 90 riders from Vietnam and 10 other countries with foreign riders coming out on top in both the men’s and women’s events.
