In its congratulatory message, the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) extended warm greetings to the leadership of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and delegates attending the congress, reaffirming the close fraternal ties between workers and laborers in Laos and Vietnam.

LFTU described the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union as a major political event with significant importance in shaping the strategic direction of the organization for the new term. It noted that the congress would contribute to advancing national renewal, strengthening unity among union members and workers, promoting socio-economic development, and improving workers' material and spiritual well-being.

The organization also expressed its hope that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and their trade union movements would continue to flourish and remain enduring for generations to come.

The All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) highly valued the achievements of the Vietnam Trade Union in recent years, including its contributions to labor-related policy and legal development, grassroots union expansion, collective bargaining, legal support, dispute mediation, innovation initiatives, protection of female workers and improvements to workers' living standards.

According to ACFTU, these efforts have effectively safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of workers while making important contributions to Vietnam's socialist development. The federation also highlighted the growing friendship between workers and trade unions in the two countries and expressed its desire to deepen cooperation under the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Vietnam and China in the new era.

The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) noted that the friendship between the trade unions of the two countries has stood the test of time and has become increasingly meaningful amid global political, economic and social uncertainties.

FNPR emphasized that the peoples of both countries share a proud legacy of anti-imperialist struggle and peaceful cooperation. It expressed confidence that the congress would produce meaningful discussions and important decisions benefiting workers and their families while further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.

The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) conveyed militant solidarity greetings on behalf of more than 14 million members. It stressed that India's trade union movement and working class have long shared deep bonds of comradeship with Vietnamese workers and people, forged through common struggles against colonialism, invasion, exploitation and oppression.

AITUC described Vietnam's resilience and sacrifices in defending national independence as a continuing source of inspiration for labor movements and progressive forces worldwide. It also praised the Vietnam Trade Union's achievements in protecting workers' rights, strengthening grassroots organizations, promoting gender equality and contributing to Vietnam's socialist-oriented development.

Global solidarity in a changing world

In its message to the congress, the Japanese Trade Union Confederation (JTUC-RENGO) noted that trade unions around the world are facing increasingly complex challenges, ranging from threats to peace and democracy to violations of human and labor rights.

According to JTUC-RENGO, global solidarity and strong partnerships are therefore more important than ever. The organization described the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union as a vivid demonstration of the vitality of the labor movement and an opportunity to reinforce unity, strengthen solidarity and build a better future for Vietnamese workers.

Beyond national trade union organizations, several international institutions also extended congratulations.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Vietnam said it was encouraged by the progress and achievements made by the Vietnam Trade Union, particularly in representing and protecting workers' rights and interests while contributing positively to social justice and decent work for all.

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and Germany's IG Metall sent messages of strong solidarity to congress delegates, expressing their desire to further strengthen cooperation and partnership with the Vietnam Trade Union during the new term and work together to build an even stronger labor movement.

Meanwhile, the Australian People for Health, Education and Development Abroad (APHEDA), the overseas aid agency of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), conveyed warm greetings from Australian workers to the congress.

APHEDA recalled the long-standing solidarity between Australian trade unions and Vietnam dating back to before 1975 and highlighted decades of sustained cooperation. The organization said it had learned much through its partnership with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and greatly valued the friendship and cooperation between the two sides.

In its message, APHEDA said it continues to draw inspiration from the strength and courage of Vietnam's trade union movement in advancing workers' rights and pledged to continue working together toward a more just, equal, sustainable and peaceful world for working people.

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the congratulatory letters, telegrams and messages from international trade unions and partners not only reflect friendship, solidarity and trust in the Vietnam Trade Union but also underscore the organization's growing stature within regional and global labor movements.

The messages are expected to provide encouragement and motivation as the 14th Congress outlines practical directions, tasks and solutions for building a stronger, more modern trade union organization capable of standing alongside workers and union members throughout Vietnam's next stage of development.
