A writing contest about Vietnam was launched during a press conference at the Hanoi-Moscow Trade Centre, Moscow, Russia on September 11.

Entitled “ Vietnam in my heart”, the competition is for Russians who lived and worked in Vietnam , especially during war. 

Entrants are invited to write about their memories of Vietnam and its people. Each participant can submit up to five entries of a maximum 2,000 words in length. 

Submissions can be sent to vietnamtrongtoi@gmail.com , Dai Doan Ket (Great Unity) newspaper 66 Ba Trieu, Hanoi; Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper 7 Phan Dinh Phung Hanoi; the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia No13 Bolshaya Pirogovskaya, Khamovniki district, Moscow. 


The competition is open for submissions until December 22, 2017. Six stories will be awarded, with one winner and two second place prizes, some other entries will also be awarded consolation prizes.

Winners will be invited to visit Vietnam and present their work at an award ceremony in Hanoi in early 2018.

Selected entries will be printed and published in both Russian and Vietnamese.

The contest is organised by Dai Doan Ket (Great Unity) newspaper, Quan Doi Nhan Dan newspaper (People’s Army), the military-run telecoms company Viettel, the People’s Police Publishing House, the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Russian veteran’s organisation.
