Among the foreign teams, the Republic of Korea took the first place in the overall rankings with two gold, four silver and two bronze medals, followed by Thailand with two gold, three silver and four bronze and the Philippines with two gold and one bronze medals.
Among domestic teams, the army team came first with three gold, three silver and one bronze. The Nam Dinh team was second with two gold, two silver and one bronze. In third place was the Hanoi team with two gold and two silver.
On the final day of the tournament, Lee Huyn-Jae from the RoK seized a gold medal in men’s discus-throwing while Boonun Supot of Thailand triumphed in men’s Triple Jump.
In women’s 400m hurdle, Quach Thi Lan of Vietnam’s Thanh Hoa team claimed the first place with a time of 57.53 seconds. Meanwhile, Medina Francis from the Philippines won in the men’s category clocking 51.08 seconds.
Nguyen Thi Oanh of Hanoi team and RoK runner Lee Jae-ha pocketed the gold medals in women and men’s 200m category, respectively.
Vietnamese runners Duong Van Thai and Nguyen Thi Oanh finished first in 1,500m category for men’s and women’s, respectively.
Malaysia’s athlete Kamaruddin Norliyana secured first spot in women’s high jump with a jump of 1.82m.
The 25th edition of the event began on July 26, bringing together 400 athletes from 40 provinces and cities nationwide and 120 foreign athletes from 11 countries and territories. They competed in 22 categories for men and 21 for women.-VNA
