Apple is gearing up for its annual fall event on September 9, where the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup alongside new Apple Watch and AirPods updates. Fans are anticipating a series packed with design changes, performance upgrades, and even a brand-new model.

iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 standard model is rumored to take a big step closer to the Pro line. Reports suggest it will feature a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade from the current 60Hz panel, and a 24MP front camera. New purple and green finishes are also expected.

The Pro models could see major changes on the back, with concept images showing a triple-lens camera array housed in a rectangular module spanning the width of the device. The MagSafe ring and Apple logo are said to be repositioned for a cleaner design.

The iPhone 17 Pro may switch from titanium to aluminum, reducing weight and production costs. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could be slightly thicker to fit a 5,000mAh battery – the largest ever in an iPhone, rivaling Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Pricing is rumored to start at $800 for iPhone 17, $1,050 for iPhone 17 Pro, and $1,250 for iPhone 17 Pro Max. Storage options for the Pro model may be reduced to 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, dropping the 128GB variant.

iPhone 17 Air

Perhaps the most exciting addition is the iPhone 17 Air, described as Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet at just 5.5mm thick with a 6.6-inch display. This model is seen as a replacement for the Plus line and a response to the growing trend of ultra-thin smartphones from Samsung and Huawei.

The Air could even outshine the Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8mm thick. However, the slim profile comes with trade-offs, including only one rear camera and potentially relying on the earpiece speaker as the sole audio output.

Pricing is expected around $950, with color options in black, silver, and pale gold. Industry watchers believe this device could pave the way for Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone, projected for launch in September 2026.

Apple Watch and AirPods upgrades

Alongside iPhones, Apple is preparing new watches. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 may bring faster charging, 5G, satellite connectivity, and blood pressure monitoring. Reports also hint at expanded health features, though some may be delayed for further refinement.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is expected at around $400, the Ultra 3 at $800, and the SE 3 at $250. A new plastic-bodied version of the SE is rumored.

Meanwhile, AirPods Pro 3 may debut with a slimmer design, smaller earbuds, a thinner charging case, and enhanced touch controls. Powered by the new H3 chip, they could deliver better active noise cancellation and adaptive sound.

Apple’s fall keynote at Apple Park, Cupertino, is widely anticipated, with official invites likely to go out by late August.
