The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch display with ProMotion, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and the powerful new A19 chip.

Apple has officially introduced the next generation of its smartphone line, kicking off with the standard iPhone 17, which features a larger and brighter display, improved front and rear cameras, and a host of other advancements.

The iPhone 17 sports a larger 6.3-inch screen and, for the first time, supports high-refresh-rate ProMotion technology, ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz. This new display also supports always-on mode, which allows a dimmed version of the lock screen to remain visible at all times.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by Apple’s latest A19 chip, delivering faster CPU and GPU performance. The six-core CPU architecture is matched with a GPU that, according to Apple, is 20% faster than the A18 chip used in last year’s iPhone 16.

The brightness of the iPhone 17 display has been enhanced to reach up to 3,000 nits, making it easier to view in bright conditions both indoors and outdoors. A new anti-reflective coating further improves visibility, and the upgraded Ceramic Shield 2 provides better protection against drops and impact.

When it comes to video playback, the ProMotion display allows the iPhone 17 to deliver up to eight hours of continuous viewing on a single charge.

In terms of the camera system, the front-facing 18MP selfie camera now features a sensor twice the size of its predecessor. Apple has optimized this sensor for selfies taken from any angle. Users can now take landscape selfies without rotating the phone. When the camera detects multiple people in the frame, the framing automatically adjusts using Apple’s Center Stage feature.

At the rear, the device maintains its dual-lens setup, but the ultra-wide lens has been upgraded to a high-resolution 48MP sensor, offering sharper and more detailed images.

The iPhone 17 comes in five new colors: black, white, blue, moss green, and purple. The base model starts with 256GB of storage.
