Under Apple’s strict policies, authorized retailers in Vietnam are sharing little information this year about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which were unveiled in the early hours of September 10, Vietnam time.
Apart from pricing, details surrounding the launch, promotional programs and delivery schedules for Apple’s new iPhones have largely been kept under wraps from the media.
However, the websites and social media pages of major retailers including The Gioi Di Dong, FPT Shop, CellPhoneS, Di Dong Viet and Minh Tuan Mobile have already begun allowing customers to register for updates on Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The sales process for Apple’s two new iPhones at its authorized retailers will follow a set schedule: customers can register for information from midnight on September 10, pre-orders will officially open at 7pm on September 12, and deliveries will begin at 8am on September 18.
One notable change this year is that retailers will no longer be able to organize early launch events and hand over new iPhones to customers from midnight, as they have done in previous years. All authorized retailers must follow the timetable set out above.
Despite registrations having only recently opened, nearly 72,000 customers had signed up for information about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max through The Gioi Di Dong by 2pm on September 10.
For the iPhone Duo, customers in Vietnam will be able to place pre-orders from October 16, with retailers beginning deliveries on October 23.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max offer few major upgrades or significant advances over the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max. From the outside, their designs are almost indistinguishable from their predecessors.
Among the more notable upgrades are a smaller Dynamic Island, Apple’s new-generation A20 Pro chip and improved battery life.
The biggest change is a new camera system featuring a variable aperture, paired with manual controls that offer users deeper access to the camera hardware.
The feature could prove particularly useful for content creators who rely on the iPhone as their primary tool for professional-style photography and video production.
The arrival of a new Burgundy color option is expected to generate strong interest among consumers looking to own Apple’s latest iPhone. However, the $100 price increase could prove a significant hurdle.
