VietNamNet Bridge - After changing the screen at a mobile repair shop, an iPhone 6 of an user in the central province of Quang Nam suddenly exploded while charging.

"At noon on April 19, when my iPhone 6 was being charged, it suddenly exploded," said Mr. Tam, from Thang Binh district of Quang Nam province.

Tam said he bought the iPhone 6 with yellow cover from a phone shop in Hue City six months ago. The phone was purchased in the USA and it was unactivated.

One month before the incident, Tam’s phone dropped to the floor and the screen broke. He brought the phone to a phone repair shop near his house to replace the screen. The phone operated well afterwards.

Tam guessed that the phone exploded because the phone repair shop replaced the authentic battery by a fake one. However, as the phone was carbonized, he could not take it to the phone repair shop for complaints.

Several cases of iPhone explosions have been reported in the world.

In early 2015, a man in New Jersey (USA), said his iPhone 5C suddenly exploded while he was making a call. Last September, a woman in Hong Kong also reported that her iPhone 6 Plus suddenly exploded while charging overnight, although she used the genuine Apple charger. The cause of the incidents has yet to be determined.
