Sales of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus smartphones have been stronger than the previous versions, according to major retailers in Vietnam.

Retailers like FPT Shop and The Gioi Di Dong have sold the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus since last Friday. The number of customers going to retail shops and placing pre-sale orders has increased dramatically compared to the previous models.

FPT Shop held an event last Thursday to launch the new iPhones in HCMC while The Gioi Di Dong organized iPhone 7 and 7 Plus launching programs in Hanoi and HCMC a day later.

Ngo Quoc Bao, director of the business development center at FPT Shop, said iPhone 7s are in high demand. As of November 11, his firm had received 15,000 orders, for which deposits had been placed for 12,000.

He added orders for iPhone 7s are higher than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, with 65-70% of them for iPhone 7s Plus.

A total of 14,000 iPhone 7s and 7s Plus found buyers on the first day of sales at FPT Shop and The Gioi Di Dong outlets.

Mobile carriers such as MobiFone and Viettel also began offering iPhone 7s and 7s Plus last Friday. Customers can pay less for the new iPhones with a 12-month subscription plan.
