The prices of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Some online websites in Vietnam, promoting ‘Vietnam’s Black Friday’, offered to sell iPhone 7 at VND15.1-15.4 million for 32 GB version, which was VND1 million cheaper than usual and VND3.5 million cheaper than products officially distributed by authorized resellers, according to VTC News.

In Vietnam, iPhones can be bought from two sources, either privately-run shops and online websites, which distribute the products brought to Vietnam across border gates by travelers, or from authorized resellers. The prices offered by private shops are always lower.

In Vietnam, iPhones can be bought from two sources, either privately-run shops and online websites, which distribute the products brought to Vietnam across border gates by travelers, or from authorized resellers. The prices offered by private shops are always lower.

As such, the new price of iPhone 7 distributed by private shops is equal to the price of iPhone 6S distributed officially by authorized resellers.

Some observers said the websites collected iPhone 7 from some large distribution chains in Hanoi and HCMC, such as iShop, ShopDunk and Vinh Phat.

In fact, some buyers complained that the supply was not enough and there were few products offered at this discount rate.

“iPhone 7 32 GB price has dropped to the deepest low, but it mustn’t drop further because it has become even cheaper than officially distributed iPhone 6S 64 GB,” Nguyen Thanh, the owner of a private shop in district 5 in HCMC, said.

“They (the websites) just tried to run sale promotion campaigns to attract buyers. There were not many products to buy,” he said.

While private shops have lowered selling prices to attract buyers, authorized resellers have kept the prices unchanged.

The GIoi Di Dong, FPT Shop and Vien Thong A, the largest mobile phone distribution chains, now quotes iPhone 7 32 GB at VND18.8 million.

Customers were told that besides Vietnam’s Black Friday, they still had one more opportunity to buy iPhones with discounts on December 2, ‘Online Friday’ initiated by the E-commerce and Information Technology Agency.

As for iPhone 6, the prices offered by different distributors vary. Genuine iPhone 6 distributed officially by authorized resellers have the quoted price at VND12 million, while the price quoted at private shops is VND7 million and locked version is VND5 million only.

Only iPhone 5S has seen prices remain stable amid price fluctuations for iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. Zing News quoted The Gioi Di Dong as reporting that the distributor sold 20,000 products a month in the last three months, while the product was a bestseller in September and October.
