The processing time for tax credit claims has now been cut down by 75 percent compared to the procedures in 2015. This has been a result of the shift to information technology application, making it easier for tax payers to complete the paperwork.

This enterprise processes all these procedures via the Internet, meaning its staff doesn’t have to queue up at any tax agency to accomplish them. This process helps save time for its staff and reduces costs for tax procedures.

Making up 20 percent of the total revenue of the state budget, the Hanoi Tax Department is currently operating nearly 30 applications regarding tax management, helping facilitate the handling of tax issues of people and enterprises.

In the time ahead, the tax sector will enjoy more benefits as the ministry is pushing ahead the completion of its online public service portal. Thanks to that, data sharing between tax agencies and relevant ministries is expected to be even more efficient.

The application of information technology is one of the efforts made by the tax sector in a bid to create a breakthrough in administrative reforms, facilitating people and enterprises.
