VietNamNet Bridge – At the first meeting of the Hanoi Party Committee on February 15, Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that Japan had proposed to give Hanoi 200 cherry trees on the occasion of the Cherry Blossom Festival in the city in March 2016.

Japanese experts will come to Vietnam to directly take care of the trees to ensure that the plants will bloom over a period of one year after they are planted in Hanoi.

Japanese experts said the cherry trees from northeastern Japan are suitable with the weather conditions and soil in Hanoi.

Welcoming the proposal, Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai told government agencies to find the appropriate sites for the trees to promote cultural and tourism efficiency.

2016 is the 10th year that the Cherry Blossom Festival is being held in Hanoi. It is considered the most outstanding event of the year to introduce Japanese culture to those who love this country.
