Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru leads the delegation aboard Akitsushima. During their stay, the ship’s commanding officers will pay courtesy visits to leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, the Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2, and other relevant agencies and units. Crew members will also explore cultural and tourist landmarks across the city.

The visit of Akitsushima serves as a testament to the growing mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and Japan’s maritime law enforcement agencies. It also contributes to further deepening the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Akitsushima (PLH32) is a large patrol vessel measuring approximately 150 meters in length and 17 meters in width, with a displacement of around 6,500 tons. It is capable of carrying two helicopters simultaneously. The ship is equipped with two 20mm guns and two 40mm guns, designed for patrol, search and rescue, and maritime safety and security missions.

Welcoming ceremony attended by representatives from Navy Region 3, Da Nang People’s Committee, Military Region 5, the city’s Military Command and Border Guard, the Ministry of National Defense’s External Relations Department, Military Security Protection Department, Coast Guard Region 2, and the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region 2.
