Cam Ranh Airport on June 6 became the final airport where Jetstar Pacific operates to get such an approval, allowing for the airline’s pilots to submit their flight plans to the airport authority and relevant agencies online, instead of handing over the paper plan in person.

The approval by CAAV allowing for pilots to submit flight plans online while staying in the cockpit helps reduce much time for flying procedures.

With the new method in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization, a flight plan will be drawn up and sent from the airline’s operating center via Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network to air traffic control agencies. Therefore, it is not necessary for pilots to visit the flight procedure room to submit a flight plan.

A representative of the carrier said that such new technology application not only helps cut time for accomplishing procedures, especially during peak hours with busy slot times, but also enhances efficiency as passengers do not have to wait so long. Saving up cost is another advantage of the application.

The airline’s project on online submission of flight plan has been deployed on a trial basis since last June, with the support of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam. The test lasted a month at each airport.

Jetstar Pacific operates 128 daily flights with a total 160,000 seats to 16 domestic and six international airports.
