The Prum Mani Vongsa Pagoda in Thoi Lai town, Thoi Lai district of Can Tho city is one of the places where the Buddha bathing ritual is held to welcome the Chol Chnam Thmay. On the afternoon of April 16, thousands of people and tourists flocked to the pagoda to attend the festival.

This is a traditional ritual during the traditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmay of the Khmer  people. This event takes place at most Khmer temples in the southwestern region and is performed by monks.

Khmer pagodas are meeting places for cultural and religious activities of the Khmer people during festivals and the New Year. Before the ceremony takes place, Buddha statues are brought from the main hall to the front gate of the temple.

At the same time, people who come to worship ask for the water that is used to bathe the Buddha to pour on their bodies.

After that, the water used to bathe the Buddha statue is splashed to festival attendees.

During the ceremony, many people sit and pray for blessings inside the pagoda. This year's Chol Chnam Thmay festival lasts for 3 days (from April 14-16). This is the biggest festival of the year for the Khmer people.
