At least one person has been killed and 19 others seriously injured when a coach plunged into a valley in the central highlands province of Kon Tum on March 1.
Colonel Le Dinh Toan, head of the provincial traffic police force, said the accident took place at 2. 30 am at Lo Xo Mountain Pass, Dak Glei District.
The coach suddenly flipped while running through a dangerous area that had claimed many lives in previous accidents.
The coach was running from Quang Nam to Kon Tum when it fell into the 100-metre valley.
Traffic police and local people quickly arrived to rescue survivors. There were 20 people on the coach.
The driver, 34-year-old Vu Van Huy, was thrown out of the coach and died on the spot.
19 injured passengers were transferred to Dak Glei Medical Centre, nine of them suffered serious injuries.
The authorities are reviewing the information before informing the families of the injured and dead. Dak Glei police will investigate the cause of the accident.
