The Institute of Geophysics has reported an unusual seismic event in Kon Tum province. Over the span of just one hour, six consecutive earthquakes were recorded in the area.

According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center, the first earthquake occurred at 12:45 AM on October 7, with a magnitude of 2.9 in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, at a focal depth of approximately 8.1 kilometers.

Subsequent earthquakes were recorded at 1:19 AM, 1:37 AM, 1:37 AM, 1:38 AM, and 1:39 AM, with magnitudes ranging from 3.5, 3.2, 3.1, 2.7, to 2.6 on the Richter scale.

All six earthquakes occurred in Kon Plong district, with each event having a focal depth of approximately 8.1 kilometers. The disaster risk level was classified at Level 0. Notably, some of the earthquakes occurred just over 30 seconds apart.

The Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center at the Institute of Geophysics continues to monitor the situation closely.
