Beach of Da Nang. A Korean tourist was drowned in a beach at a resort in Ngu Hanh Son District on Thursday evening.

She said Kim Un Yong, 56, and another Korean, swam in the sea near a resort at about 6.30 pm on Thurday.

The two tourists were exhausted by swimming away from the coast.

Beach rescue forces brought them back to shore, but Kim Un Yong died before arriving at hospital on Thursday evening.

Thi said the district had warned all beach resorts and hotels to supervise tourists when swimming.

Local authorities and the Korean Embassy have completed procedures to take the victim back to Korea.

Last November, a Korean tourist drowned in the sea off another resort in the district when swimming with two other Koreans in rough sea.

Local authorities have also set put ‘no swimming’ signs on Đà Nẵng’s beach.

Rescuers said swimming is banned in rough seas.

The city has 11 public beaches in Liên Chiểu, Thanh Khê, Sơn Trà and Ngũ Hành Sơn, and other beaches of coastal resorts and hotels.
