Ky Quan San, also known by tourists as Bach Moc Luong Tu, is the 4th highest peak in Vietnam at an altitude of 3,046m, which attracts many adventurous backpackers.
In the period 2016-2020, the number of tourists coming to Lai Chau reached 1.5 million. Total revenue from tourism services reached more than 2,370 billion VND, with an average annual growth rate of 14%/year.
In 2022, Lai Chau served about 762,000 visitors, earning a total revenue of over 555 billion VND, an increase of 131.6% compared to 2021, reaching 126.84% of the set target for 2022 . Total revenue from tourism services in the past 2 years was estimated at 794,095 billion VND.
In the first 3 months of 2023, there were about 259,716 tourists to Lai Chau, an increase of 96.8% over the same period in 2022.
To create its own brand and attract more tourists, the province currently focuses on developing specific tourism products, particularly adventure and discovery tourism models.
Being home to unique landscapes, in recent years, Lai Chau has been transforming significantly, gradually asserting its position as a center for ecological and community tourism, and adventure sports tourism.
With high mountains, dense forests, deep caves, diverse and dangerous terrain, in recent years Lai Chau has become an attractive destination for tourists who love adventure sports and conquering nature.
For those who love adventure travel activities, they can trek the mountain peaks in Lai Chau that are sought after by domestic and foreign tourists. The high peaks in Lai Chau such as Pu Si Lung, Ta Lien Son, Pu Ta Leng, Bach Moc Luong Tu, Hoang Lien San... are among the top 10 highest peaks in Vietnam, with heights from 2,996 meters to 3,083 meters over the sea level.
