Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thong, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial People's Committee, stressed: In recent times, the political security situation in the locality has been maintained stable, with no incidents or problems occurring. Complicated issues create "hot spots" or cause bad public opinion among the people. The implementation of social security policies, ensuring people's rights, freedom of belief and religion are emphasized, social protection work, protection of children and vulnerable groups, people are emphasized. has achieved many positive results.

Thong emphasized that this is an important conference to foster knowledge, raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, social organizations and especially key officials. Directly direct, advise and implement human rights work in the province.

At the same time, the conference effectively serves the work of preventing, detecting and fighting against activities that take advantage of democracy, human rights, ethnic and religious issues to slander and distort against us in the Western region in general and Lam Dong area in particular. Thereby, performing well the task of ensuring and promoting human rights in the new situation, especially when Vietnam actively and responsibly participates as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the term. 2023 - 2025.

At the conference, the delegates were presented by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Standing Office of the Government Human Rights Steering Committee on the following topics: "Ensuring freedom of belief and religion and activities that abuse the right to freedom." due to religious beliefs opposing Vietnam"; "Protecting and fighting for human rights in the new situation".

The rapporteurs provided a lot of updated information, basic knowledge on human rights issues and the policy views of our Party and State on the issue of ensuring freedom of belief and religion; Vietnam's responsibilities as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council... Providing information about activities that take advantage of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, and religion to sabotage Vietnam in international forums and in Lam Dong area associated with each specific characteristic; Share experiences in fighting activities that exploit human rights issues in the new situation.

Speaking at the closing of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thong emphasized: In the coming time, human rights work will still be the main direction that reactionary and hostile forces will thoroughly exploit and take advantage of to pressure and promote the the element of "self-evolution, self-transformation" internally and inciting a number of opponents.

Therefore, departments, branches, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities, especially member agencies of the Steering Committee, need to focus on implementing the protection and fight for human rights in the following areas: Deploy and implement specific measures to protect and promote human rights; Continue to strengthen the participation of the entire political system in promoting and protecting human rights; Promote information and propaganda work on human rights and fight against plots to take advantage of democracy and human rights issues against Vietnam, especially in cyberspace.
