Vietnam proposes 0.2% tax on idle land to curb waste and speculation

Vietnam's Ministry of Finance has proposed a 0.2% tax rate on abandoned, unused or delayed-use land, nearly seven times the basic residential land rate, as the government seeks to promote more efficient land use and curb speculation.
