Two Vietnamese workers were killed after a scaffolding structure at a hydroelectric power plant in Laos collapsed, said local authorities.

The two victims, Vo Van Tuan, 33, and Phan Van Thai, 25, from central Nghe An Province were seriously injured and died on the way to hospital.

The scaffold collapsed suddenly on the morning of January 11 while construction workers were working.

Pham Minh Chuan, chair of Phu Thanh commune People’s Committee in Nghe An Province, said on January 12 that their relatives are fulfilling administrative procedures to take their bodies back to Vietnam.
