Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov has recognised the warm support of Vietnam to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Russia’s October Revolution.
At the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties
He made the statement at a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son on December 26 who has finished his working tenure in Russia.
The KPRF leader expressed his pleasure at sound relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the KPRF thanks to bilateral consultations and candid exchanges of views.
He urged the two countries to exert more efforts to help young generations nurture traditional bilateral relations.
Other leaders from the KPRF also recognised the active involvement of the CPV delegation in the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP-19), which took place in St. Petersburg in November.
Leonid Kalashnikov, KRPF Central Committee Secretary for International Relations, thanked Vietnam for supporting Russia’s hosting of the 19th IMCWP.
He also lauded various activities in Vietnam in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Russian October Revolution.
For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Son said 2017 has created important milestones in bilateral relations with high-level visits, especially the visit to Russia by President Tran Dai Quang in June and the attendance of President Vladimir Putin at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in November in Da Nang city.
He thanked the KPRF for supporting the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and believed bilateral cooperation will reap more significant outcomes, contributing to the reinforcement of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
KPRF leader Zyuganov took this occasion to present a medal commemorating 100 years since Russia’s October Revolution to the Vietnamese diplomat.-VNA
