Dang has been dismissed from the post of deputy dean

Dang is famous in Vietnam, especially among students and university lecturers, for his victory winning the laurel wreath at the competition, a national prestigious competition broadcast by the Vietnam National Television.

Dang has been even more famous than other ‘talents’ because unlike many others, who live and work overseas, he returned to Vietnam after finishing his overseas study. Dang has been praised for his great love of the fatherland and his willingness to devote himself to the country.

Therefore, the news that Dang is facing discipline has caught the special attention of the public.

Dang wrote on Facebook that he ‘began having problems’ after he attended a scientific conference held by the Math Institute in March 2015 in Hanoi.

Dang is famous in Vietnam, especially among students and university lecturers, for his victory winning the laurel wreath at the competition, a national prestigious competition broadcast by the Vietnam National Television.

Dang sent a report to the school and asked for permission to attend the conference with his own funds and talked with the dean about this. However, in late March 2015, the school told him to send the organizer’s written confirmation about the time of conference.

The situation became more serious when the school’s leaders said that in the document confirming the participation in the conference, Dang exposed the records of the school’s internal briefings, which showed text that does not respect the school.

The school, after considering Dang’s document, decided to dismiss Dang from the post of deputy dean.

The school’s Decision signed by Rector Duong Thai Cong said that Dang was disciplined because he violated Article No 19 of the Civil Servant Law – offending the honor, dignity and reputation of another person while performing professional activities.

Cong said that before the case occurred, Dang had prepared for the post of deputy rector of the school. Dang was one of the cadres sent abroad within the framework of the Mekong 1000 Project initiated by Can Tho City’s authorities on talent cultivation.

After the training course in the Netherlands, Dang returned to the school and took the post of vice dean of the Electricity – Electronics – Telecommunication faculty in 2014. Dang is also well known as the founder of VN8X, a club for young Vietnamese intellectuals.
