Legendary cyber security expert Mikko Hypponen will visit Vietnam for a discussion on information security at a seminar scheduled for November 18 in Hanoi, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

The event titled Information Security Workshop 4.0 will be attended by famous cyber security expert Mikko Hypponen along with local experts such as Ngo Quoc Anh from Bkav, Trieu Tran Duc from CMC InfoSec, Pham Anh Tuan from VNPT VinaPhone, and Nguyen Le Thanh from VnSecurity.

Speakers will share their experiences in the field and comment on new initiatives for information security in Vietnam.

Mikko Hypponen is the Chief Research Officer of F-Secure and was one of the first cyber security experts to introduce the concept of an anti-virus in the early 1980s. He was ranked 61st by Foreign Policy magazine’s list of the Top 100 Global Thinkers.

In 2007, the US’ PC World magazine listed him among the 50 Most Important People on the Web. Mr Hypponen sits on the advisory boards of Technology Transfer (T2), Social Safeguard and Hoxhunt, and on the advisory panel for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Initiatives and common approaches for developing a safer web space will be put forth at the seminar.
