ASEAN flag hoisting ceremony in Hanoi
Speaking at the event, Tran Thi Thu Dong, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s Department of Fine Arts, Photography, and Exhibition (APE), said that Vietnam will assume the role of ASEAN Chair by 2020, an important political and diplomatic event for the country.
The contest is co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National ASEAN Secretariat 2020, and the ASEAN 2020 Sub-Committee on Contents.
The ASEAN Year 2020 in Vietnam will prioritise attention on strengthening regional solidarity and unity; maintaining an environment of peace, security, and stability; promoting regional, people-oriented, and people-centred connectivity; upholding ASEAN characteristics in effective adaptation to the Fourth Industrial Revolution; partnership for peace and sustainable development; and improving the bloc’s operational capacity.
Entries for the contest must reflect Vietnam’s cultural identity and the theme of the year, printed in colour in A4 paper.
Contestants are required to present their concepts in a writing of roughly 200 words, as well as provide the technical dimensions of their design.
The organising board will receive entries from May 8-11 at the APE headquarters at No.38 Cao Ba Quat street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.
The first prize will be worth 30 million VND, with two consolation prizes valued at 3 million VND each.–VNA
