Peach blossoms is the symbol of Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) in the north.

Accordingly, holidays for Tet 2020 will start from Thursday, January 23, 2020 (or the 29th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Pig) to the end of Wednesday, January 29, 2020 (or the fifth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Rat).

PM Phuc asked agencies and units to arrange work based on their plans during the holidays to ensure the fulfilment of their tasks and serve the people.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs was assigned to announce the implementation of the Tết holiday plan.

Earlier, the ministry submitted the seven-day holiday plan to the Prime Minister, saying two days off before lunar new year’s eve would help people and labourers better arrange their plans in terms of transport and preparations.

The Lunar New Year is the biggest festival in a year for Vietnamese. It is traditionally an occasion for family reunion, and most people will try to return to the home village for the celebration./.
